Lineage
Cheapo plastic ROSS mic > Sony Recording Walkman > TDK SA C90 cassette (no dobbly) > SONY TC-WE435 >CE2k (beginning/end of recording cleaned up - no other tweaking) > CD Wave > FLAC 6 > you

Another show from the 1980s Bierkeller that I recorded in the claggy depths of the Bristol Bierkeller. Just found it after picking up a box of tapes from the loft knocked over by Julio the cat.
HEALTH WARNING! The sound on this is shockingly bad but I read a plea from another Husker Du thread asking for uncirculated Husker shows. Don
t think I ever bothered copying this for anyone before as the sound is pretty bad. But
s from the original cassette master and it
s been transferred with no tweaking so, if you want it grab it and listen to it in good health. If you want a pristine sounding show, go elsewhere.
ve described the Bierkeller elsewhere but, for those of you who never went there, it was a pit. Sticky carpets, damp and fetid walls, filthy toilets, low ceilings, Neanderthal security staff, expensive watery beer. The Huskers were blisteringly loud at this show but I
m sure that the low ceilings and the funky smell emanating from the toilets distorted the sound even more than the rancid PA and my steam driven tape recorder.
There
s probably a more listenable recording lurking in here somewhere so, if anyone wants to clean it up, knock yourself out.
ll post an MP3 sample so you can decide if it
s worth downloading.
The tape break came between Track 15 and 16 but I
ve designed it so you can burn all 18 tracks without gaps.
Anyone who can fill in the gaps for tracks 12 & 13?
