Joni Mitchell 05/00/1969 Troubadour Nightclub West Hollywood, California A very good mono audience recording from a first generation tape Sennheiser 805 shotgun microphone > UHER 4000 5-inch reel-to-reel recorder > Revox B-77 > Sony DTC-690 2010 Tramsfer of First Generation DAT: Sony DTC-690 > Audigy 4 Pro (via Toslink) > Audacity (convert to 44.1) > CD Wav > Flac (Level 8) 01. Chelsea Morning 02. Cactus Tree 03. Untitled (Rainy Night House) 04. (The Battle Of) The Blue Boy 05. Tune Up 06. Both Sides Now 07. Night In The City 08. Story Of Nathan La Franeer 09. tuning/intro 10. Nathan La Franeer 11. The Gallery I never found the second reel of this show and this is all I have. The tape was labeled 1969 but the exact date in 1969 is unknown. Joni played at the Troubadour in January 1969 (21 through 26) and again in May 1969 (20 through 25). Joni mentions she just played on a TV show with Johnny Cash That TV show was aired on July 19, 1969. My guess is that this is from one of the May 1969 shows. This recording came from the 5" master reel in the TMOQ collection. Copied in 1986 to my Revox B-77 at 7 1/2 ips then in 1996 transferred to a DAT. Transferred to an Audigy 4 Pro sound card via a toslink cable in 2010. Minor editing and then conversion to 44.1 kHz sample rate with Audacity. Note: There is a small glitch in "Both Sides Now" that was on my DAT. No eq or noise reduction. It is just like you were there (and maybe nodded out before the end?:) Enjoy Mike Martin 9/2010 FLYING M PRODUCTIONS RECORDED BY FANS AND SHARED WITH FANS TRADE FREELY BUT PLEASE NEVER SELL SUPPORT JONI AND SEE HER PLAY LIVE The historic 1970 concert with James Taylor and Phil Ochs has just been released.
